More Celery please!
I have been asked by a lot of people why I always suggest adding celery as an alternative to many commonly used greens on my diets. I thought I would shed a little light on the benefits of celery and how it can help you as well.
First celery is a very low calorie vegetable that contains over a dozen antioxidants as well as quite punch of protein. Each stock of Celery contains 7 grams of protein and only 3 grams of carbohydrates at a whopping 16 calories. What about fat you ask? Well it does have .17 grams yes that’s (point) 17 grams. This superfood also contains phthalides that is known to reducing swelling artery walls and help lower blood pressure.
So if you are Vegan and looking for a way to up your protein without adding fat or your just trying to find something to add some variety to you diet try adding a few stocks of celery to your diet.
You can also try celery and almond butter. It gives you a dose of healthy fats, antioxidants, and some extra protein in an easy to eat snack!
